1996 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 I6. Was driving down a road, engine suddenly died, check engine light came on. Crank but no turnover. Later figured out it wasn't getting any spark. Replace ignition coil, distributor cap, and rotor. Still crank, no start. Later ran the engine code once able to, read p0340. Replaced the ignition pickup/camshaft sensor today, check engine light went off once turned the key to power, tried to start, cranked, no start, check engine light back on. Unable to run a scan right now, just looking for any assistance.


EDIT: Fixed, needed a new distributor.

 

Check ASD relay and fuse. Look up the testing process for your crank position sensor as well

 

start with the basics, check your grounds, would suggest removing them and cleaning them until you are back to bare metal to bare metal.
