1996 Country Side Molding
Hey Gang,
I've done some searching but haven't been able to come up with the answer I'm looking for... so i thought I would ask here.
I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country (Red/Tan) that I have been restoring. The last piece of the puzzle is the bottom side moldings. Over the years, mine has literally shrunk up about an 1".
Can someone help me by telling me where I might be able to purchase side moldings. I attached a couple of pics... so you can see the kind of side molding i'm talking about.....
Also,
I want to say this forum as helped me redo a headliner, clean the throttle body, remove & clean start (wasn't working, now works like new), replace IAC,TPS, and so much more... this site is amazing!!!
Thanks to all the people that have posted HOW-TO's or just answered other peoples questions. The information here is priceless!

The headliner was rough... yet fun. Here are a couple of photos.
I redid the console, headliner and sound bar. Seeing how it was the first time that I have EVER attempted something like this, I was very pleased with the results. Taking the center console apart with all the electronics was a little difficult. Once I figured out how it was put together, it made it a little easier.
This is my first Jeep, but already I have my eye on getting another one LOL.
UPDATE:
Thanks to another writeup I found... I was able to remove a dead starter, take it apart, clean, oil and rebuild. Now it turns over like a BRAND NEW starter... total money spent $0.00 (I had cleaner/oil).
Thanks

How did you repair the liner...what did you purchase for fabric and did you put rubber under neath? What is the box above? My 1996 Cherokee Jeep Country doesn't have that..is that the flood light panel? Can you send me the steps for repairing? I know nothing about and cannot find someone to help me. I live in Ocean City, MD. Thanks for your help!

Anyway, i think my 2000 XJ Sport looks way better without the side molding.
ps - I also repainted the trim on the ends of each bumper. It had gotten all gray, so I used Krylon Fusion gloss black and it looks super.

On my 96 country, I removed the moldings, eraser wheeled the heck out of it, then wrapped it in 3M vinyl up to the two tone paint line. If it ever gets damaged I'll just re wrap it. Looks great!
I also painted the fender flares with rustoleum trim and bumper paint in black (the can has a picture of a cherokee grill on it, funny enough).

I believe the one for my red 96 was the light titanium.
