The hubby and I are new to Jeep ownership and to refurb, but like challenges (or baptism by fire, take your pick).

The Chilton guide is unhelpful on this, and he's trying to reinstall the rear seatbelts after recovering and reinstalling the headliner (and repairing the roof, but that's another story).

Does the washer go on the inside of the install hook and more directly under the plastic cover or on the other side? Sorry if I'm not using the correct terminology.

Are you meaning a flat washer or a spacer(a bit more than 1" long)? My '96 has a spacer under the bracket then the torx head bolt.

 

It does look more like a spacer (flat and fitting closely to the bolt, appx 1") versus a true washer (pancaked and millimeter or so thick).
So it goes bolt head, spacer, bracket?
