1994 batt group..

I have gone through search and not found definite info..94,4.0 ,auto,4x4, with air..Have always used group 58,,but not carried local.. ?,,Does group 34 really fit with out mods ?..T.I.A. for any info..Wayne

I use a group 34 optima yellowtop on my 99...fits fine. Not sure if there were changes from 94 to 99 on the battery tray. I dont think so.

58 is the stock size for a 1994 as you mentioned, 34 will fit with either some minor trimming of the battery tray (cutting some of the "lip" off) or replacing the battery tray with one from a 1998+ XJ (the battery tray in 1998+ XJs is slightly larger to accommodate the 34 size battery which came stock from that year on).
