I looked for the same replacement foam and I couldn't find anything OEM or aftermarket.

Possible solution is a junkyard. I understand that you can swap the front seats so I am assuming you can swap the foam if you can find a decent passenger seat.

I live in an area where boats are very popular and marine upholsters are quite popular. I managed to get one of them to redo my front seat a couple of years ago and it has been fine. Of course, I had to bring him just the bottom of the seat, not the whole vehicle.

Hope this helps

The passenger seat has the same foam as the driver's. If you find a one, take the metal pan as well, it is the same as the drivers side, unless you have power seats, in which case you will have to drill two small holes for the control. The left side of the metal pan tends to crack over time from drivers getting out of the car.

I swapped my 89 torn drivers seat bottom with the passenger side. The only difference is the loop for holding the seat belt is on the wrong side.

You can reuse the your covers if they are in good shape. I found good seat cushions with covers at a jy. The colors matched. The patterns were a bit different (came out of a later year XJ) but close enough for me.

The foam is glued to the pan so make sure the pan is not cracked.

JY cover on left. Original on right.

My original seat pan.

Yep. Get a passenger cushion. swap your upholstery on to it. These seats are very simple to work on. No special tools required.
