i pulled the pump checked it out and it runs hooking to battery with jumper wires. checked ballist resistor has 1.6 reading. found loose ground bolt under driver side tail light retightened it. checked all relays for click sound ,they click.
what else should i look for

 

Do you measure voltage at the ballast resistor? I assume the 1.6 is a resistance reading? Or is that the voltage you measured there?

Jump resistor see if it works .

Just so you no pump will only run for a few seconds to prime system then runs constant after starting .

 

The original symptom? Would it start, then die? Not start at all? How was the hose AT the fuel pump?

 

First it was running ok then i turned off jeep. When i restarted it only ran 30 seconds and died. Then only turned over not starting. Checked fuel rail no fuel. Then checked connection at pump power up 2 or 3 sec period. Then tow jeep home.

 

Sounds like fuel pump relay or ballast resistor.

 

so.... wha happun?
