Default 1990 jeep what is this?

Soo what is this pump? I think it's a pump. I only say that because when my jeep is off but the ignition is on and I hit the brakes it makes a humming noise like it's pumping. I traced the hose back and I believe it goes to the vacuum booster for the brakes. I'm just wondering if that is true.. thanks!

No the ABS motor thing would be way more visible. I wanna say it's a Bendix9 system with the electric brake booster.

Okay cool. So when I upgrade the brake booster eventually would I still use the electric pump?

I wouldn't, but IDK if you can replace it with a normal system.
