Exclamation 1990 Cherokee laredo A/T 6 Cyl. Transfer case

I REALLY need an exploded view of a transfer case for a 1990 Cherokee Laredo. Snow is comin' and 4 wheel drive would be nice.....

What is the trouble you are having that you would need the tcase schematic?

Well, The bearing for the front drive shaft went out and I've never yanked a tranfer case before so, Since I like to learn by touchy-feely, and reading, I figured an exploded view of it BEFORE I start would be a small advantage on my end. I'm not sure if there is ANY further damage to the front part of it, but if there is , then it's out of my league and i'll have to pay someone to fix it. If it helps any, it went out with a whimper, not a bang.

Just wanted to make sure you were not about to disassemble the tcase if the front was not engaging. They are prone to vacuum issues with the shift motor if your vehicle is so equipped.

Do you have the NP231 or the NP242 tcase?

To be honest with you, I haven't even looked at the i.d. tag yet. It just happened yesterday when I felt a shuddering. Put it up on blocks and engaged the 4wd, saw the shaft doin' the worm, shut it down and removed the front shaft. Now, it's just a matter of dropping the case and replacing the bearing and whatnot and making sure (hopefully) nothing else is mangled...
