you can buy one of those kits to change it over to r134a. You have to have the system vacuumed and then install the adapters and then oil and recharge adding a can of wither stop leat or uv detector to find a leak is you have one.
Kit sells for about $35 dollars and Ive been doing it on all of my cars that came with R12 from the factory..... usually works really well even though it is designed with r12. Ive been told there is a few minor parts that need to be change to make it a true r134a system but just evacuating and refilling with r134a will produce decent results.
