I believe the much older XJ need some massaging to the firewall to make a 4.0L to fit

That they do, the indentation wasn't put in till 87 when the 4.0 was introduced. I remember reading that somewhere.

I can't imagine that happening. That engine is tight in there with the indentation. I wonder how he did it? That might be where I read about the indentation for the 4.0

More info plz what year works for the 3.4 ? how about the wiring ?
