1/4 panel replacement
I just took the end caps off my bumper to remove the trailer hitch along with the bumper (sellers wife backed into a pole) and found a ton of rust hiding behind both endcaps, which i was expecting as i could see daylight while replacing the taillight harness. Joy. Anyway, for those that have replaced your rear lower 1/4s with factory style replacements, where did you get them, how much were they, and how was their fit? I looked into the marketplace here on the forums, and elsewhere, but not sure who to go with.
Also, there is a black sack behind each 1/4. I thought i read somewhere that they were meant to keep things dry? How effective are/were they? Do i put them back in afterwards, replace them, or toss them altogether and pretend it never happened?
Thanks

Ebay must have figured out what I am after as it FINALLY gave me something other than JCR. Sherman 075-60R and 075-60L. Question now is do they, or any other brand, include the lip at the back that spot welds to the the unibody? Nobody shows that part of the panel, which is important to me.

On my trailer project I had to replace the right quarter panel due to it being bashed in. I got a quarter panel from a part-out. Then when I removed the flare on the other side I found it rusted out also. Found someone selling XJ parts who pulled a quarter panel off, got lucky for $35

This is a site I visited to get my replacement quarter panels and they're relatively cheap on a reliable site, I would recommend these but be aware you would need a welder to put these on or bring it to a shop.

Thanks. Morris was the first place i looked. Just checked 4wd and they show more or less the same photo as everyone else. The issue is this...
Do any or all brands include the lip at the back where it spotwelds to the unibody? Nobody shows this, nor is it mentioned. The only experience i have with replacement body panels has been the Mustang that, even when multiple vendors claim a full panel, they were not a full panel, which only add more time and money to the project. The plan was to cut the old panel off now in preperation to save the welder time and save myself some money, but would hate to cut something off if it is not included with the replacement and need welded back. You see the dilemma. The less welding, the better.

I would contact the vendor, maybe JRPCHAMELEON can verify whether they have the spot-weld lip on the ones he said he bought. To bad most yards do not allow power tools. Since the guy I bought the second Quarter panel from drilled out the welds I it was much easier and cleaner install for sure!
