1 or 2 more inches????
I posted a thread about goin 2 more inches but now ive been thinking, what about just 1 more inch? Im not sure what i want to do, i want to go bigger but not sure if i want to go through with it. So what do you guys suggest, I have a 3in RC lift now and not sure what to do. Would it be worth my time to just do 1 more in or should i just go 2 that way you can notice it. So let me know what you guys think.....

Buy the adjustable control arms from RC. Then get a 1 3/4 inch spacer and shackle kit from 4 wheel drive hardware from Daystar. Get a transfer case drop too. Then you need to look at RC's 4.5 inch lift track bar moving instructions. This should cost around 350 to 400.

I would like to do all of that but im on a tight budget. So i cant really do much. I would just like to go a little higher without spending much money. My thinkin was one more inch would be good but is one inch worth all that work? To me if im in there i mise well go for the 2 and drop my tc 3in. Im thinkin front spacer rear shackles and homemade tc drop.

why do that when for like 450 bucks you can get a whole 4.5 in lift?

Get your self a one inch coil spacer and a 1.5" shackle. Give your self a little more height in the back to compensate for sagging leafs in the future and gear and stuff in the back when you go wheeling. I had a 3" lift and did what I just said and I was able to use all my 3" stuff at 4". The lower control arms I shimmed out using the factory shim pocket in the control arm mount to get within spec. The uppers are stock. The shocks were good for 2-4". The only upgrades I really went with is an adj track bar, and a longer rear brake line. My point is if your on a budget going two inches is going to create a headache and you might have to start throwing money at it.

I cannot find the budget lift guide thread on this forum, but there is a great resource someone put together to help identify shortcuts that you might find beneficial to boost your XJ on the cheap.
Good luck,
