Not much is written on going this direction. If I can get my hands on a clean TUPY, can I install this on top of my '97 block to replace the 0630?

You might be able to since the 0331 head ports are smaller than the 0630. Most people don't go that way because of so many issues with the crappy 0331 head. I would use the gasket made for the 0630 since it has to match up with the bigger pipes. If the. Gasket for the 0630 covers all the ports properly and the bolt holes line up then a definite yes...your performance might suffer a little

I'm a tad frustrated with Clearwater/Odessa as they did not seem up front with their advertising. After making payment I received this private message from them: "Everything is built to order and right now Reman heads are taking between 2-4 weeks before shipping out as for brand new heads that is an additional $150 AND WOULD ARRIVE IN5-8 BUSINES days at your door". They make no insinuation that they do things "built to order" (which is silly considering they have the market cornered).
To me, that is a surreptitious way to extort extra money out of customers. If they would be more up front, like most vendors, they would get more business. At this point I'm not sure if I want to go through with the transaction and ask for my money back.
