Ok, I've read all the threads about signs, diagnosing, and costs, but just how hard is it to replace it yourself? I'm unemployed now, and getting low on savings; if I can buy the part, is it something that I can do myself? My general tech experience at this point is doing oil myself, but if I can save 500+ in labor, I'd love to...

Get yourself a good manual. Factory service manual is absolutely the best.
