Ok so I have a 96 jeep cherokee 4.0 high out put when I first got jeep it was having problems when driving like it would cut fuel when has to floor put any time lightly on gas fine..... So some in told me to check the thermostat coolant sensor that gose to the computer I unplugged it and it ran fine no issues but still not all the power it should have I replace that sensor and runs a lil better but. No when I reach about 2000-2500 rpms did same thing fuel cut type thing and jerking and hesitation but any thing past those rpms she rips like it should ...... I unplugged sensor again and back to we're I started its fine ...... The second 02 sensor is not plugged in I'm thinking this is the cause of this but idk seems more than that plzzzzz help me

ok well 1st thing to do is plug in the o2 sensor that is not plugged in... the o2 sensors control fuel mixture and you need both of them.... I would replace BOTH o2 sensors and take it from there...... also make sure you get the brand NTk o2 sensors for your year.... after you address that repost a update.... do not get a map sensor until you do both o2 sensors... after they are replaced make sure you reset your computer... hope this helps

it might go bad... its hard to say.... but you defintely need to have the 2nd one plugged in and installed no matter how you look at it..... btw make sure all the wires for the o2 sensors are also in good shape...

is your jeep coming up to temperature? does it warm up to 195-210 area....?
the coolant temp sensor also feeds information i believe to the pcm for fuel mixture... to do with the temperature of your engine....
Did you have a code for this sensor at any point?
you do have codes for the o2 sensors... fix the o2 sensors first no matter what else your jeep is doing you do need both o2 sensors installed and plugged in to have the jeep function correctly.....
and if you still have a problem after this is done... then we can trouble shoot more... eliminate one problem at a time...
