Here is a awesome idea... You don't think it's fab flag it! Let a mod decide! It's what I do! Ask any mod I flag any stupid post and then they fix it. Simple. I'm sure you can handle that task.

This is a great idea but people are to lazy to take 5 seconds to do it. So there for the garbage stays to ***** and complain about instead of doing something to get rid of it.
That's people's logic these days.

The interesting side this issue is we hear so many suggestions. I hear things like more mods, mod approved only posts, splitting into multiple sub-forums, and the list goes on. On top of that you have some who just want to complain and that for some odd reason gives them joy.

Bottom line the site is ran by volunteers. You know folks who do this because they want to make it a better place but they don't get paid. Yep the very people many members want to ***** and say they don't do their job. I find it odd members complain about the work volunteers do. Some folks must have really dull lives.

Anyways here's the nuts and bolts of what's going to happen and you can ***** for hours and it won't change.

We won't be altering the fab section. If you see a post that does not belong don't ***** just do as those above said and report it. A mod will move it or what ever needs to be done. It's simple and easy and well much less stressful.

So yeah no change will happen. I don't really care how many of these threads get started it's not going to change. People will post in the wrong areas and it doesn't matter if it's Tech, Fab or just plain Off Topic. It's going to happen so deal with it and stop making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Carry on.

No offense, but in the time it took you to write that, you could have changed the subtitle for the section and improved things a fair bit. Like you said, the site is run by volunteers. I would think making the job easier would be something saught after.

I guess I'm just in the vast minority of people who actaully want to improve CherokeeForum.com and not settle for good enough.

I'm really not trying to continue this at all, but what if a new sticky was made with the name "HOW TO REPORT A THREAD" telling everyone who doesnt know how (or more realistically everybody who is just too lazy to take the 5 seconds to figure it out) how to report a thread. And when its made, put it right at the bottom of the stickys so everyone who looks at the fab section will see it every single time they go into fab. Like some others have said, alot of the members who are active all the time on here are noobs. I know that CF was the first forum i had ever joined, and when i was a noob, if the information wasnt right there for me to find it I was just lost and confused. And having that sticky would give us a link to post up to those guys who say "Yu put dis in da rong section stooopidd" without ever even flagging it..

Hell I'll even make it myself if it'll help any. I know you mods are pretty booked up most times anyways. And maybe we could just copy the post and sticky it in most of the large sections, just to be certain everyone see's it? I dont really see much wrong with the way things work now, just there seems to be a lack of knowledge going on.

And a little off topic.. but anybody else notice these kinda problems pop up around the first of the year every year? Maybe tax season brings along some new jeepers, and at the start of the year they get the itch to modify and need some help

Anyways.. Mods send me a PM if you want me to make the sticky, I got plenty of free time these days.

Don't get me wrong I do want to improve the site. However I do not want to increase the work of the staff. I read through many of the suggestions but they are nothing more than bandaid fixes.

Adding multiple subforums- doing this creates more areas for us to watch.

Staff approved posts - this means we have to constantly read posts and approve them. This is tedious and cumbersome. Not a fund path to go. Tried this on another site nad it was more work and hassle then it was worth.

Add more mods - yep could do this. However why should be add more mods when it's as simple as members clicking a button and saying not fab. It gets reported we move it.

Honestly I do not expect the staff to read every post. Any site ran by volunteers relies heavely on the members to assist. We can not read every post nor should we be expected to. If a member sees a post that does not belong they can click the little icon below their info and report that thread/post. I really do not see why this is such an issue.

We have several members in various sections that are really good about reporting threads that don't belong. I really appreciate those members as they make running the site much easier.

I wouldn't say that. Not to mention nathan doesn't own the site anymore. Plus it takes quite a bit more than that to get under my skin.

The site does seem different. I quit hanging around after being reported for "bad language " after saying I wasn't trying to get in a pissing match with another guy...
Anyways imo you should have to go thru a what belongs in this section page before you have access to the fab section if its that bad and hopefully it would help out a little with this problem. Not sure if this is possible but it couldn't hurt.

You know where i think all the commotion about the fab section is coming from? The fact that there hasnt been as many good fab threads started because its been too damn cold for everyone to work on their jeeps. The problem will probably fix itself once it gets warmer, cause you know not everyone has a heated garage to work in

If you wouldn't mind, could you please tone down your language? This is a "Family Forum"...
