I was kind of hoping to get away with a cheap used one until I get my other vehicle together... I want to do a fan swap eventually and don't want to put $100 in a fan I'm just going to swap anyway.

I had to get mine from the JY it was 10 bucks there. Cheapest I have seen new is like 75 on ebay. They are not cheap.
Thinking about picking up a cheap wal-mart box fan and duct taping it to the front of the XJ.
That would look sweet.

Yup... I have called 8 JY around the tristate area... not one has one at all... I even asked if they had any fresh wrecks I could steal the fan motor from... the motor is $100 from Autozone... It sucks donkey butt.... To be honest as long as I don't tow and only run A/C on the freeway I have been getting away with it just being disconnected... but my GF misses the A/C while tooling around town.

It sold already but I have another one off of a 95 XJ. You will have to cut the plug off and splice yours in, they are different.

i havent run an electric fan on my 97 since the spring, they only really kick on when you have the ac or heat goin. not sayin this is true for older xjs that are prone to overheating

Yes, I agree. I have a 94 XJ and they only kick on when they are running a little to warm. I have 2 electric fans installed hooked to a switch. Mine tends to get warm from constant abuse so when I know it's going to work haed I flip the switch.
