Well the mount makes it mount over the steering so you get more clearance and the axle mounting point is higher. but, I guess you could take it off and mount it with out it. It has a regular bushing on the other side. I never got a chance to install it cause my lifts are over 6.5" and it i made for a 4.5" max.

The Trac-Bar locates the body in relation to the axle. When lifted the axle shifts off center. This is definitely noticeable with lifts over 2 inches. If your vehicle is already lifted view it from the front and see if the tires are centered underneath the body. Some lift kits come with a bracket to lower the stock bar at the frame mounting point and some offer a bracket that bolts to the axle. You may get too much or not enough body shift using these type of brackets. Stress created by the extra leverage of the longer bracket can also lead to stress cracks in the frame rail. The axle mount brackets never stay tight, and actually lowers the axle mounting point, putting the track bar in a worse angle. By using a adjustable Trac-bar you can get rid of those problems plus it can be adjusted for you application. This one uses a bracket to make mounting point higher but you could use it with out the bracket as well. It just bolts into the bushing that would bolt to the axle.

can you get me a part number for just the bracket. i don't need it for my track bar but it allows you to mount the steering stabilizer higher up for use with my cross over steering. if not don't worry i will just go to a dealer and find it
