Yea, and it's not like they are anything special. They consist of probably less than $2 in aluminum..... Woohoo!

I quickly scanned this thread, didnt see it asked/answered.
Whats the benefit to this particular mod?
Is there any chance it could decrease fuel economy?
Is the whistle loud and obvious?
This wont need a new butterfly?
Have any for a 98 in stock?... ZJ if it matters. I could send two 98 style and two HO style back to you after getting mine installed.

I may have missed it, but if I were to send your tb and money does that mean I would get mine right back after you are done with it? Or would it go to whoever is next in line and I would have to wait until another one becomes available?
I wouldn't be able to get one from you for a little while but was just curious and I'm sure some other people would like to know as well.

Main advantage is more air in. It could decrease economy if your Jeep feels more powerful now and you end up putting your foot in it alot more! It goes without saying that if your exhaust is already opened up, the effect may be more noticeable.
Some guys have a whistle, and it is obvious, some say no. My 92 does whistle, but its not annoying to me. If you round off the corners in the bore, it may prevent it. It wont need a new butterfly because Im only boring below the plate to make it the same diameter as above it. I dont have any in stock for a 98, but anything from 95 up on a ZJ and XJ are the exact same, so if you send at least one, Ill have it in the mail in about 3 days. Also, any extra cores you send me I pay $18 each.

If you send me your throtte body, I will not give it to someone else! It takes priority, and I will have it in the mail in about 3 days. If I happen to have the same year done at the house, and no one has paid for it, I may ship it to you the next day.
thanks for asking.

These throttle bodies come blasted, cleaned, greased, and rebuilt with new springs. I'm speaking from personal experience.... These throttle bodies are great. Stop debating it and buy one.... You won't be disappointed. I would put my name on this product.

Rounding off the sharp edges of the IAC ports WILL kill the whistle. Even though the whistle was hardly anything prior, after doing so there was no whistle. Small, but noticable, MPG gains CONSIDERING you don't get frisky with the skinny pedal because there is an increase of power in the 'get up and go' low end and closer to WOT. Power gains are smaller in mid-range RPM, but still there. No butterfly needed unless you bore past 60 mm. So far, no cons whatsoever to doing this mod.

Well I just installed one of these Whistler's Mother only bored to 60mm, LOL, and wow what a difference!
Took me all of 30 mins to do it including taking pictures and just over all moving slow.
Then I took it out for a drive and I can see that the gas mileage will be going down because I can not keep off the skinny peddle to safe myself. The quick response is more than I hoped for. This is what my newly installed Mustang fuel injectors were looking for, a little more breathing room. I would stake Kopecki's name on this very inexpensive up grade too. This and the Mustang injectors cost $145 delivered to my door and an hour and a half of work to install them both and I don't think you could get more HP or Torque for the dollar anywhere.
Painted mine Ford Blue. How I don't get kicked off the forum now I don't know.

That was easy!

In my personal experiences, this throttle body, e3 diamond fire spark plugs, granatelli spark plug wires, better flowing intake, 99+ intake manifold swap, better flowing exhaust, mechanical fan delete, and mustang injectors are the cheapest/easiest/most effective power mods for these vehicles. You can get a pretty nasty rig with just those "bolt ons."
P.S. Don't forget the simple things such as adjusting your kickdown cable. It takes 5 seconds and makes a huge difference (if yours is out of adjustment).

The stock throttle body necks down after the butterfly and what TheXjfiles does it bores out the end of the throttle body to get rid of that necked down portion and make it 60mm all the way through.
