Hello. Yes I have more. All the 99+ Jeep 4.0's use the same fuel injector so these will be a direct swap out with the 784's.

So 703's would be the same EV-1 plug you have where-as the 784's require an adapter which means 1 additional connection point however you'd get a newer and possibly fresher injector.

And actually I have 703 & 784 (Neon), 715 & 789 (blue Ford higher flow), 849 (Green Dodge E-85 same as 784), 710 (Ford "yellow stick"), 048 (Stroker), and 923 (Cadillac injector basically the same as the 784 but from newer vehicles. I have a set of these in my personal XJ) and who knows how many other injector types here to sell
Just got the Green Injectors(789) installed this week and Everything's is going fine..I will start my mileage testing for ya.. They run a lot smoother and better response so far. Took about 30 minutes to swap them out.

Default do you need the clip nuts?

I bought the X2FE injectors off of fiveomotorsport.com and found that the place where the clipp nut attaches on the stock is different from these new injectors. I'm worried about installing them because of this.

In the picture I'm attaching you can see that the slot where the clip nut attaches is a fraction of an inch but if you were to use the clip nuts on the new injectors they would not push in all the way like the stock injectors and the fuel rail would not be able to be bolted down like it was if you used the clip nuts because the injectors would stick out a fraction of an inch further than they did before.

So, do you need to use the clip nuts or not? I already have these new injectors and my jeep is all ready for injectors to be installed. I'm stuck right now. Help!

Aside from the fact the 710's don't use a "clip-nut" to attach them they are a better injector to use because it is a one piece plastic body instead of the plastic to metal like the ones in this Ebay ad. Plus they have a LOT wider opening at the 4-port spray end so you get a better spray pattern and the whole injector inside is a lot wider necked so it's easier to get a good cleaning of them. I have a set or two of them and could let you have a set for $40 shipped.

Default New 784 Need Help

I just installed a new set of 784 the other day on my 1999 XJ with 120,000 mil 4.0, all went good. all of your tips saved be big time. Jeep started up with no problems and i started to drive it around the block ran great plus 3 MPG, until i hit about 5 miles. That is were she started to buck stall and just running like ***. i got it home MPG doped to 12 and very bad gas smell coming from the tail pipe.

SO far for MX re-flashed the ECU start it 2 time a day still no change and pulled the plugs all of them all of them are covered in black shoat. i also have a good amount of water and white smoke coming out of the tail pip. I did run the code reader and it's not showing any.

do i have a bad Fuel Regulator or i'm i just passing to much gas?
Any ideas would be a big help.

So you reset the PCM learn cycle? In that case it's gonna take more than a few days to relearn the proper A/F ratios. It takes 50 cycles to do so - and not just on/off cycles - full warmup cycles with driving.

Sounds like you're getting too much gas and an incomplete burn and it's flooding maybe. I would put back in my old stock injectors and see how it runs first to rule out bad injectors. I read somewhere about someone doing this swap and they ended up having to get a new fuel pressure regulator to compensate for the different psi but I can't recall where I saw that. If it still runs like **** after you put your stock injectors back in you know it's not the injectors.

If it was just one injector blackened I would go with a bad injector but there no way all 6 are bad. The 784s will run fine with the stock '99 psi so there's no need to change the regulator for a good swap. As sugested I'd pop your old injectors back in and see if it changes. If not then something happened.

Default Saturday project

Thank you all for the info. This jeep will never let me do any nice to her. She fights me all the way.

I got a new set of plugs to install Saturday and i will try to do some warm up and cool down cycles to try to have the ECU relearn the new injectors. If at the end of the day i have no joy the old one will be re-installed to see how that works.
