almost all xj lifts need something to clear the box that contains the stock shackles, otherwise there just isn't enough room for the shackles to articulate.... I disagree the correct leaf length will provide great flex with stock shackles

i have your 3" coil springs and leaf packs. i have yet to install them. i got them last year from IRO.
I dont want this issue to happen to me too. I still have my reciept. I also have your 1.5 shackle kit too. i plan to install this lift in the next couple of weeks.
I hope a measurement of the leafs would be able to determine if i have the same lengths as the ones in question. please save me the step of installing them just to find out they are too short and then having to remove them.
I was on your website pricing upr/lwr c/a's..., swaybar discos, shackle relocating boxes and a set of MT 33" mtz's. my total came too 1498. before shipping.
I came here into the vendor section looking for a discount promo code and read this.
those of us who chose you lift did so for a reason. cost and quality. I'm comming back to purchase the aformentioned items because of i love your products.
Please help us.
thank you.

I have a question; would the issue be the length of the spring or how stiff the spring is? If you want, say, a three inch lift in the rear, your choices are a more stiff spring, lower the mounting points of your present springs, or shim between axle and spring. The stiff spring is going to give you that greater than 90 degree angle between shackle and spring. Because the spring is so stiff and the angle greater than 90 degrees, your articulation is reduced. So here is what worked for me. By using the RC add-a-leaf my stock spring flexibility was somewhat retained and I got three inches of lift. You can see in the picture that the angle isn't 90 degrees so I added the RC two inch lift shackle (I think it's more like two and a half inches) and the angle is now 90 degrees and articulation is probably about as good as it's going to get with that setup. I don't have a recent pic to show the 90 degree angle. Oh, and now I have about five and a half inches of lift, which is even better. My point is that you are not going to get a 90 degree angle relationship with stiff springs unless you have shackles a foot and a half long.
