It is possible something has crawled in there and set up home when it got cold. Try and pull it and see if anything is in there.
My heater core also made this noise when it had air in the system.

pull what? The blower behind the glove box? How do I check for 'air in the system'?.

Sounds like a bearing is makeing a little noise in the fan, it should be fine unless you can't handle the squeal.

ya mine does something to that effect...when i get the heat turned on outside the car sounds like its surging, like the compressor is loading up then unloading and i have a minor squeal during the "load" cycle and it causes my headlights to dim every 5 secs or so < not sure if its the same for you or what the deal is with mine...

Mine does the same thing...I have a used blower motor set aside just in case (pretty sure it's the blower motor bearing) but for now I've found that if I turn up the blower speed the squeal goes away much quicker..then just turn the blower speed down to whatever you need it to be.

Trying to figure out how to get to the blower in my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. A mouse - now dead and getting smelly - took up residence.

I have the exact same issue, I came here to find an answer. Hopefully someone will have a cure for this !
