It's been a while since I've posted anything. If you look in my photo album, you can see a lot has been done. Everything for the most part have been documented and photo's taken. I plan on doing a build thread in dedication too my Pops. He is now 74 years old and from picking up the Jeep while I was away overseas, to his last effort of love. Installing the rear bumper tire carrier, he has for the most part built this XJ on his own. I sure love this man! While I was buying parts while over seas, it was our plan to build this together when I would come home. Of course each time I would come home, he would have put on what I bought. Mom would say too me that "your dad was board and you know son, he loves you and enjoyed doing the work and having something to do". I would say I wanted to do this together. HAHA!! Anyways, next up, we plan on re-gearing, putting locks front and rear and finally install the Detours frame stiffeners/rock guards on here shortly, that I bought a couple years ago. I'm going to buy a mig welder to do it ourselves. Also, going to repaint the XJ with the U-Pol Rapter kit here at the house. I told him about it and I could hear him dancing. He's already been on You Tube checking it out. He's funny! On these last items, since I'm home now. I plan on sending them to my house. LOL. Then, it's off to Uwharrie to finally do some wheeling. Hope to see you out there.
Dad & I installed the new bumper and Winch. Side view. It's finally starting to shape up. Dad installed the new rear bumper and tire carrier. We were supposed to do it together. Keep in mind, he is now 74 years old. Did this all by himself. Guess he loves me and mom said he was bored. LOL
Fishbone Bullhead Front Winch Bumper with Grille Guard & Warn Zeon 10K. Install on both wasn't too bad.

Here's Pops in the early stages of the build. Little did I know. A lot of the way the XJ has transformed has been idea's he threw at me by reading these posts and so on. He is a trip! He was 69 years old, when this photo was taken.

Are you from the Carolinas? I've been to uwharrie a few times now and do a good bit of riding around the south east. I try to get on the trails about once a month or so.

I can tell you're a vet, just from the screen name. When I saw the name, it was a flashback of a cattle truck in Ft Leonardwood.
Opened up the diff cover on the axle I got the other day and it turned out to be a limited slip and not an open carrier like the guy had said it was supposed to be.
