A group of wheeler friends have valued my 92 Laredo at 5k plus based on condition and upkeep.
Its not anything special other than low mileage (190K mi) and tow package. No lifts, just a some (4) extra 100w headlights to annoy oncoming LED/HID ********.
Its a DD for my business and anything that shows sign of weakness is replaced.

I'd include some pics but a very clean white 92 is easy to image.

Are they pulling my leg or is it really that valuable?

 

Price is highly variable depending on where you live. I would not be shocked to see 5k for a very clean, very rust free, perfectly functioning XJ.
When I was looking there was a warrantied used XJ in VA (too far for me) for 5k with no rust (at a used car dealership). A private seller had a super clean, no rust, under 100k XJ and wanted 4k for it.
There was also an 88 Comanche that had 16k on it and was kept in a climate controlled garage - asking price was 22k.

 

Also, by definition an XJ has no signs of weakness.

 

 

I bought my clean 90 Laredo off Craigslist for $1,200., just under 200K. A leaking rear main and a jacked up Bendix 9 anti-lock brake system were the only issues worth mentioning. (bad TPS, alignment, 232 TK with a 241 bezel.......Happy now two years and 20K later.

 

but those 190,000 low miles. prob worth $8k.

Its rust free and everything works. So I guess 5k is a reasonable price.

If so, list it on ebay. The person willing to pay the most money for it will do so.
