Ah man... such classics... I so wish MST3K was still around.

And the "turning down" part made me think of the old cult reenactment of Rocky Horror on stage and the audience having all the props ... man the good ole days of harmless good fun.

Most members here highly suggest and do eliminate or don't replace that HCV. They were eliminated by the factory as of '97 on.

Save your money and return the heater control valve.

Buy 97+ heater hoses instead.

ESPECIALLY up where your at. Plastic, age, and cold aren't a good combo. And as XJwonders recommends just get the 97+ heater hoses which are preformed.

So i had been dealing with an intermittent blower fan problem. It wasn’t the typical resistor problem. My fan would only work on 1 or 2 position and would cut out completely sometimes. I would push in on the connector under the hood and it would fix it for a bit. So I went to the junkyard and cut out a connector from another 01, spliced it in to my wiring harness and cleaned all the connections with contact cleaner. So far so good. Can blast the heat now finally. Just thought I’d share this seemingly oddball problem and fix.

Shifter extension - now it feels like a truck, lol
Now I just need a cool shift ****. I want one of those grenade shift *****, but I also drive a LOT and want it to be comfortable so still undecided.

The extension is one of those $3 ones from China, it lines up pretty good, not so noticeable in person. Need to clean the goop off the factory lever though

[ignore the radio, it died on me last weekend and I haven't put a new one in and just left it hanging halfway out of the dash)

You can buy shifter covers. I had one that would match your interior. Or use 1/2 or 3/4 inch foam pipe insulation. I've used both and they do cut down on drivetrain noise amplified through the shifter. I'm guessing the hole in a lime green pool noodle would be too big? LOL

Well.. I'm sure this will spark some debate and there will be people that disagree, but I agree with Freiberger on the definitions of J-Turn vs. Rockford.... here's a pictographic representation of what I consider a J-Turn...

So to answer your question, I had to use the e-brake to swing the rear end around.

Did mine last summer. Then did the rears later. Really like the look on my black Jeep. Don't have a decent picture to show the front but a before and after on the back.
