Default Winch ideas and recommendations

Currently I have no bumper up front, and I and looking for either a stubby bumper with winch plate or a winch plate I can bolt up and hook up the winch. Also I still have my stock bumper I have seen people put a universal mount on stock bumpers and a winch in that. Is that study and strong enough? And is that a decent idea. If not does anyone know of any good check winch plates that you can just buy and bolt on. Thank you

Honestly i would get a full off road bumper if you care about your jeeps looks. The stubby bumpers are more for a rock crawler,Its gonna get banged up or already is.Or they dove tail the front end so its no wider then that stubby bumper. As far as keeping the stock bumper and getting a winch add on,For what that add on cost you can almost buy a off road bumper. And that stock bumper is just sheet metal over sheet metal if you hit anything off road your gonna break stuff.

you like the stock look, i do plus I didn't want 500# of bumper beating on my ball joints.
I don't like changing them that much.
DetourUSA Backbone winch mount. about $300 though,

Lastly don't buy an ENGO winch they';re not water proof, I've never used mine and its toast from just rain water getting into it.

Lol thats cool seeing an almost identical set up to mine, did the bumper+ light bar + warn though, I would have gone smitty without hesitation. Cab fab does a stubby bumper, idk if it's along your lines op.

A bit curious, but do you mind my asking , why a stubby?

Also look for diy kits if you can find a local welder, it can help you save $.
