96 XJ Sport phantom power draw stops when F24 fuse is removed?
My 96 XJ just started killing my battery when not driven for a few days. I found that the is a power draw running all the time and I can make it stop when I pull a 20A fuse under the hood. It appears to be fuse F24 on the PDC (position 3/4 on section A of the PDC), but I cannot figure out what it goes to, other than making my radio and dome light not work when the fuse is removed. I have the FSM and I can see the fuse in the diagram, but it does not reference what it does or what it goes to. How can they have a FSM that does not list what this fuse does? Cross referencing other year diagrams and I think it might be for the fog lights (I don't have a factory fog light switch, let alone fog lights). It is really getting annoying having to pop the hood to put the fuse in to have a radio and pulling the fuse when I park it.
I am not running a stock stereo (Sony head unit, 4x50 Fosgate amp and 4 Fosgate speakers). I disconnected my Fosgate amp to make sure it was not staying on and the draw remains. I have disconnected anything that is not factory and still dead battery. I purchased a new Optima yellow top, but do not want to kill it too. The PO has a rats nest of wires under the steering wheel
Can anyone help???
Here is the diagram from the FSM to reference which fuse

I think I figured it out. I pulled the harness plug from the back of the radio and the draw goes away. I don't get how a radio that works could be causing a draw like this? Could the radio have a short in it from me barreling down dirt roads at 40mph, but still work fine?

I think your Pacific Cost Manual is wrong it shows the fuse in question is a 15 AMP fuse; but your photo shows it being a 20 AMP fuse.
The photo that I’m including may be more accurate.
What is the model number of your Sony Radio?

HELP, 1996 Cherokee - Stereo Color Codes http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f20/h...-codes-181077/
OP by telescopic
I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country 4-door, and the factory stereo wiring harness has been cut off. I know that pink is 12+ constant, and a couple others, but the speaker wires are going to be difficult to figure out. I also tried the 1991 model color codes, but they're not right. Does anyone know the color codes for this year? That would be a big help. Thanks!

Well, I went ahead and figured out all the colors on my own. Here they are, from a 1996 Cherokee Country 4-door.
12+ constant: pink
12+ switched: violet/white
illumination switched: orange/black
illumination switched: light blue/red
Both illuminations appear to do the same thing (voltage goes down as the instrument lights dim), and indeed there is only 4 ohms between them. So they seem to be connected together somewhere.
ground: black
left front+: green
left front-: brown/red
right front+: violet
right front-: blue/red
right rear+: blue/white
right rear-: blue/orange
unknowns:
brown/yellow
brown/blue
It appears that the left rear speaker has faulty wiring somewhere. The above colors are likely for it.
