Changed my booster check valve before so i can stop using a water cap to keep it sealed. Have my brakes back, but have a feeling my front passenger caliper is seizing closed. That's tonight after daughter goes to sleep.
a while back when my dad recovered his VW seats he used a heat gun turned down and moving quickly to tighten up the leather and make the covers fit better. They looked perfect! You may already know this, just figured I would pass the knowledge along.
so now i see a fan shroud! i just ordered one. never saw one. hope i can get it in. how did you clean engine area?
Engine bay, driveline components, and inside the frame rails I was using Purple Power 2:1 dilution, with some dawn dish soap mixed in, with a foaming sprayer.
Door jambs, wheel wells and non-greasy areas were done with Purple Power 8:1
Was very dry out so I used cold water to prevent it from evaporating too quickly. The foaming sprayer helps keep the solution "sudsy" and helps it stick to the surface instead it dripping off and drying, which leaves an ugly white residue. Walmart and I am sure most places have really cheap paint brushes that I primarily use for agitation, with some stiffer brushes for the engine block and tires.
If you don't have a fan shroud, you should definitely have one. I don't think the stock mechanical fan will do anything other than make a bunch of noise without the shroud in place.

I found a great pair of seats in a '99 at the salvage yard this morning so I'm back to XJ seats now... the ZJ seats I'd swapped in were super comfy, but the additional height & the "grabby" velour upholstery was aggravating.
