What moves the position of the axle rearwards is the location of the centering pin on the springs in relation to the front leaf eye.
XJ centering pin is 23" from the main eye, dakota is 24" from the main eye... so there's an inch there.... 1 1/8" if it's the newer dakota springs. Never had really paid much attention that before though.

Thats a good chart, and you are correct that the centering pin is what provides the stretch. I guess its not two inches, only an inch or just over like you mentioned. I'll be saving that chart for sure.

Yeah, I've had that saved for a couple years. Comes in handy every now and then for reference sake. Lots of good information on it.
Ordered a JCR gas tank skid, steering box brace and some nut strips for the rear.
I will also be ordering a spartan locker for the rear end. Going to leave the front open for now and save my pennies for a selectable and do chromo's at the same time.
Waiting on cav fab to ship out the 3-link. Apparently I'm top 5 on the list of pre orders. Also waiting to get the spartan locker in the rear axle and gas tank skid before I put it under the jeep. The HDO shackle relocation brackets will mount on top of the gas tank skid, so I want to get that in place before I mount those up with the new nut strips.
I plan on getting the rear stiffeners welded in this week as well.
Here's some pics of other items I've picked up, need to get wrenching under the hood.
Got some 4ga cables from Neal. I used to do a lot of wiring for a living so I am quite the critic. Have zero complaints about Neal's work, great quality, great price, very well done. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f72/784-703-710-injectors-222140/
Also picked up some rebuilt 4-hole, 703 injectors from jhc7399. They are very clean and nicely done. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f73/upgraded-battery-cables-221513/

Running the same cables and injectors, from the same guys. Absolutely great stuff, good guys to deal with as well.
You sir are well on your way to owning a friggin tank! So get some work done already.

I definitely agree, both great guys to deal with. Fast service, great quality, zero complaints from me.
I got SOMETHING done tonight after the gym lol.
Swapped out the injectors. Didn't take a ton of pics along the way, was wearing nitrile gloves and didn't want to get fuel on my phone.
Got them installed, did a pcm reset. Cranked for about 10 seconds and fired right up. Let it warm up a little bit, went through a few starting cycles. All is well, no leaks and runs great.... on jack stands.... sitting in my garage. Lol (don't mind the dirty engine bay, that will change when she's rolling again)
Rail out with old injectors.
Rail out of the engine bay, no issues, everything came out with one firm pull.
Awesome build so far! I just got my XJ finally about 2 months ago. I have a baby arriving soon so I don't get to do a build yet. Looking forward to the day I can re-gear, go a little higher with the lift, and do some recovery and armor. Looking forward to seeing yours brought out from hibernation!

Thanks I appreciate it. I cant wait to get this thing out of hibernation as well, should be prime wheeling weather around the time I get it wrapped up.

Congrats on the baby by the way.
Thanks! It's going to be a whole new adventure. We got the jeep with the intention of turning it into the family adventure vehicle. The national forest is full of roads and camping with some good trout fishing. Once the baby is old enough I can't wait to get her involved in the outdoors.
