Practicaly rebuilt the rear axle, lol. New Drums, shoes, hardware, wheel cylinders, wheel bearings, seal, fluids, and brake lines. Drained the master cylinder, cleaned the sludge out, then sucked new brake fluid through until it came out clear at all 4 wheels. Holy brakes now . For the first time since I've owned it, she now has a parking brake as well.

Nice! Is it smoother and quieter now? My old 8.25 needed wheel bearings and a pinion bearing and was VERY loud.

Nice!
That is a high rating for the coil springs, good for fast terrain. Looks like you will need jounce bumpers and bumpstops.

Why didnt you swap the shafts and carrier to a 29 spline when you regeared?

Yeah, it is high but it rides great! I seriously can't wait to bomb around some fire roads. Progressive bumpstops are next on the list after my checking account cools off for a bit. A cut and fold will probably be next. I'm going on a shake down run next weekend and expect the tires to smash the fenders pretty good.

The axles are swapped and were already regeared. I bought my buddy's pre-built axles and his rig is a 93. I might do a shaft/carrier swap but I don't anticipate an actual improvement expect maybe peace of mind.

Swapped gas tank straps. One crumbled in my hands as I removed it the other j hook snapped during removal. Coated new ones in rust reformer. Took care of some other rusty spots too. Also ordered the rear disc brake swap from mrblaine that's on the to-do list for Saturday.

I replaced the radiator and t-stat last weekend, this weekend revised my trans cooler location for better cooling and added second gauge for trans temps. White is hot side and black is cold side. I took this when i got to work I was only going about 30 mph. So that is why the temps are the same. When driving on the highway the hot was at 120F and the cold was at 100. It was 35 degrees this morning too. Saturday 65 mph 75 outside hot was 155-160 cold was 110.

I get to do this soon, I need to do balljoints as well. I don't expect my jeep to play nicely. I'm pretty sure the driver side is factory stuff. It's not something I look forward to.

I did get a Detours Tailbone setup installed this weekend. Want to pickup new hardware for it and gotta tinker with the tire mount but otherwise Loving the fact the spare will be out of the cargo area soon.
