Unhappy too much steering play...

I bought a rugged ridge heavy duty tie rod kit and installed it. i bought it because i needed new tie rods anyway. after installing it, my steering was better but it pointed out that there is about a quarter turn amount of play between turning left and right. i've got a 6.5 rc lift and the trac bar that comes with it. sadly the lift was on it when i got the xj so i don't know its age...

my next guess for fixing the play is the trac bar. i was thinking about replacing with a double shear adjustable bar. i'd like it to be as solid as possible, safety first you know!

if there is any other factors i could be missing could i get some help

sorry ahead of time if this is an already current feed. i'm awful at navigating the internet.

The steering is your issue. That type of steering is know for roll steer. The tie rod rotates back and forward. JCR uses a plastic spacer instead of a grease boot to help with this and you can buy them from them pretty cheap. In the mean time you can twist you tie rod ends on the tie rod in opposite directions and this will almost fix it but make them wear out really quick.
