like really, explain the process of the Clunker Program.
How does one explain waste and stupidity? ?
C4C is the governments attemt to jumpstart its new purchased auto companies. (GM and Mopar)
And to create new debt for citizens borrowing from.....guess what?....BANKS the the govt. also bailed out..........

Saving the environment? Please..... This excuse is to give the eco-****'s a thrill.
I'm sure they think the less USED cars that are out there will further increase NEW (govt. owned) car sales.

I think i'll keep my '97 XJ and my '90 B2 for awhile now.

as long as they dont outlaw............old car PARTS........

This is for real. Why scrap these vehicles out? all of the vehicles I have seen at our dealer that have come in for C4C would cost more than the car is worth to repair and make it safe to drive on the road. If you did fix them who would you pay to do it and who is going to pay them? If these cars were given away to people that were ""in need"" and someone has an issue, that starts a lawsuit, and so on, and so on..........

I mentioned this on another message board.
Many states have government required safety inspections.
(admitadly some do not)
One of the C4C requirements is the vehicle must be registerd, insured, and street legal. This means (for states that require it) also safety INSPECTED.

There could also be waivers that could be signed by the reciever of said "clunker".
But the true reason for scrapping these vehicles?
Each one they scrap means another eventual sale of a government sponsored (GM- Chrysler they hope) econazi- mobile.
And another government bank sponsored loan.

Welcome to the beginning of the "people's republic" my comrades......

i think i would rather give my jeep away to somebody who has passion for them and would work on it and fix it themselves rather than do something as idiotic as that or give it to obama to scrap
