solution?

replace all worn parts, ie: everything up front.

Is it more of a popping or snapping than clunking?

get new Tie rods since theyre pretty cheap and easy, tighten the track bar.

A clunk going over bumps on mine once was a worn sway bar bushing, also cheap n easy.

other than that, replace everything like I did in my thread, ball joints, hubs, u joints, all tie rods, track bar ect...

Get under your Jeeps front end and start wiggling suspension componants. If anything with a bushing moves easily when shakin by hand it is most likely bad. Change just the bad piece if on a budget but, like the guy above said, if one piece is worn they most likely all are if the PO didn't replace anything.

Just this morning I found a loose nut on my passenger side motor mount. Made a lot of noise when hitting bumps.

Control arm bushing clank and clunk when worn. Ask me how I know.
