Default Best electric fans? Final attempt before I sell the Jeep

After fighting overheating forever I found out my problem is most likely the electric fans the PO put on the Jeep before I bought it. It's the three fan kit from ffdynamics.

What is the best kit that uses two, not three, fans that have a shroud? I can't find any "kits", all I find are fans that are used for custom setups. I need something that will for sure fit the Jeep and not cause over heating.

What have you used that actually works?

Also, I have a three row radiator in there, so space is a little less then stock.

well I would run the factory A/C electric fan and a 3.0 Taurus electrical fan in the stock mechanical fan shroud

then get a pair of 30 amp relays (one for each fan, easily found in 80-90s BMWs as a main relay) and a volvo 900/9000 fan switch housing (in the upper radiator hose) and a volvo radiator fan switch (91c turn on, the one in the housing turns on at like 99c - 101c)... another thing to note is that all the parts, fan, relay and thermo switch are made by Bosch! GOOD STUFF

currently I am letting the computer control the A/C fan, but the Taurus fan is on the volvo thermo switch, the truck NEVER over heats at idle, in fact it runs cooler at idle when the A/C is on, because that's when the A/C fan kicks on (it also kicks on at 215F, but my Jeep does not get that hot)

another option is the 88-95 Taurus 3.8 / 1993-1998 Lincoln Mark VIII dual speed fan, 4600CFM !!!

88-95 Taurus 3.8 / 1993-1998 Lincoln Mark VIII fan... (Ford 8C607)

keep in mind this fan CAN pull up to 70 amps (SURGE) on high speed start up from a dead stop ... a simple way around that is to run 2 thermo switches, 2 relays and both fan speeds let the low speed kick in around 89C - 91C and the high speed kick in around 95C - 99C... doing this will mean that the fan is already spinning when the high speed side of the fan kicks in

NOTE: you might need to make your own shroud for this to work

You have the ffdynamics kit and it still overheats? Sounds like a different problem than the fans unless they dont work anymore.

I run the 3.8 taurus fan and Aux fan wired to in-cab switchs. Works great and I never use the high setting. Actually I only use my fans when I'm moving slower

Does it overheat while you are driving at speed? If so, don't blame the fans

Does it blow white smoke, is your oil milky, do you have to put antifreeze in very often? Could be head gaskets...

Agreed, go to the junkyard and get an electric fan out of a 90s ford taurus.
They're one of the best OEM electric fans ever made.

the 3.0 fan will fit in your stock mechanical fan shroud... the 3.8 not so much...

You guy DO realize he has the three fan kit from ffdynamics right? He's not going to be getting more airflow with the Taurus fan. If his kit is working right, then there is more than enough airflow and something else is causing the issue.
