Unbolted the telescoping steering shaft and removed the power steering lines. Unbolted the steering box bolts and found the flimsy aluminum spacer was, of course, broken.

Here's where the shitshow starts: The replacement steering box I ordered had damaged threaded hose fittings. Luckily the ebay seller had another one available and happily agreed to send out a replacement @ no charge to me.

If you push this tab in and at the same time pull the ignition cylinder out from the steering column.

After I removed the cylinder from the column, I sprayed it with dry lube spray.

Lined up the ignition slot and reinstalled the cylinder. After cleaning it worked perfect. Not as bad a shitshow as earlier, but still not fun.

I made the air box mod around 1-1/2 years ago. Drilled a 3/4" hole and screwed in a 1/2" barbed end with 3/4" threaded end into the PVC pipe. Simple and functional.
