I'm happy the cargo area isn't all that rusty but the passenger quarter panel had about 2" of standing water in it after sitting in this garage dry for 3 weeks.

This was about half way through gutting the old floor pans out.

You can see the method I used here tracing the new floor pan and drilling out the spot welds I left a half inch of over hang for the new pan.

After a tremendous amount of work this was the final result and I'm very happy with it.

Just another angle of the finished removal.

I'm going to have to get more creative to repair this section below the fuse block. I have plenty of scrap steel for this part though.

Good fitment on the transmission tunnel side. I'm buying new hardware for the transfer case linkage. The bottom 2 bolts were rusted to death.

I still have some work to do on the firewall but hopefully the rust is more cosmetic so I don't have to get more creative.

The rust from the fuse block is most concerning and I'll need to be very careful when cleaning and treating it.

That seems about right. Massive holes and tons of rot. Now you can see my leaf spring hanger from the top side.

The fit is pretty crisp minus the top left corner having a massive gap.

I'll need to take out this little wall to repair the steel.

This second patch looks okay but their is a finger gap in that corner between the new floor pan and the patch.

First patch welded on both sides. This one went on well and I cleaned it and welded some areas I missed after this picture.

It was super thin so I had to be extremely careful but I was able to get some good welds down.

Obviously I still have a little more to remove but most of the remaining rust hasn't rotted too bad so I may be able to keep some of it as is. I've got POR-15 to stop it from rusting more!

Obviously I had some extra rust to remove in the rear but that will get played in with 16 gauge mild steel.

As with all things so far it was harder then it needed to be but easier than it could've been! Got that out and cleaned up the surrounding area to asses the damage.

Finally having learned my lesson I started with the rocker panel side so I can lay on the floor and drill those out with some leverage!

Got the rocker side off and the rest all the way to the fire wall. Rust wasn't as bad as the driver side here so it should be pretty straightforward to install the new steel.
