As you can see the pads are kinda small for the rotor surface and I don't know if that's normal.

Passenger side with the fresh brakes. Obviously the calipers aren't new but my budget is dried up and I'm trying to get this project completed sooner than later.

I think 34's will fit nicely but these will probably function better with travel.

A lot more room in the fender well with the cut and fold plus the extra 1/2" to 3/4" lift from the 8.8 swap kit.

Got the diff cover back on and I'm happy with the color choice on the axle with the contrast of the Yukon hardcore diff cover.

Pulled the tape off the passenger side. It's not perfect but it's fine and will do until I can get some tubed fenders on here.

This is my driver side. The paint lines aren't good and it didn't fold great but there is more room for activities now!

Got the U-Bolts torqued to 105 ft lbs. Plus the shocks went back in easy as could be. Glad I didn't mount these brackets wrong! 😅

I cleaned the housing with a wire wheel and then wiped it down with degreaser before applying an acid etch primer.
I put the old diff cover on fo convenience.

I wish surprised there wasn't a lot of rust under the flare! It's really clean actually.

This was my test piece while I was dialing in the machine and practicing my technique. I'll admit I need moch more practice and a better machine one day but I'm feeling more comfortable and confident to make quality welds that will hold up over the years.
Can't wait to finish weld the axle!

Obviously I went with Adams drive shafts. They had this built quickly and I got it faster then I expected! Extremely happy with it. I've been excited to buy this since I decided to do the axle swap!

I'm so excited to see this axle with brackets on it finally.
Next I will be burning these in and painting it for final install.
It's currently Steele It grey but I'm painting it with a rattle can grey enamel for a top coat.

Getting the pinion angle dialed in before tacking on the brackets
This is a Ford 8.8 out of a 2004 Ford explorer sport trec. It's set up with 4:11 gears and an Eaton TrueTrac!

Got the rocker side off and the rest all the way to the fire wall.
Rust wasn't as bad as the driver side here so it should be pretty straightforward to install the new steel.

As with all things so far it was harder then it needed to be but easier than it could've been!
Got that out and cleaned up the surrounding area to asses the damage.
