'04 WJ rear axle swap

'04 WJ rear axle swap
Good morning Guys,
I'm an XJ guy, so some of the things on my son's new 2004 WJ are new to me.
It is a 4.0l, 242, D30/35 version.
The D44A rear axle swap seems to be an easy 1/2 day job, but my question is about
the Varilok system.
If I understand correctly, the D44A came in the V8 models with the 247 TC.
So if we source a rear axle from the JY and it has Varilok, can we just swap it with the D35
easy, peasy?
Or is there something in the Varilok that will cause problems because of the different model
of TC?
