New owner, 90 cherokee, electrical issues, need help
I just bought a 90 Cherokee that I found in a field. It had been sitting for 3 years but I got it started and drove it 30 miles home. Now that it's home I have learned that it has some problems. Number one being a bad battery, not a big deal. It runs off the alternator but when I kick the blower motor into high, the engine dies if the motor is at an idle. Is this simply due to the initial surge of energy consumption used to ramp up the blower fan pulling more than the alternator provides at idle rpms and without the battery to assist in supplementing the extra power draw or should the alternator be able to supply sufficient power to handle the power draw at an idle on it's own. It does fine when the motor is above an idle. I have the 4.0 i6. Wondering if there are any textbook issues that I should know about. I want to fix it up but I want to get through the repairs first.
