The tale of SuperMJ
Subbed.
p.s. I read the entire Black Phoenix build too Wonders. Took me awhile since it's been a really busy week, but, good Lord, you've put alot of time and energy into that thing! Sounds like you've learned alot over the last several years too. Loved the Rausch stuff you threw in the thread.
Nice work!

Alright so to recap. In my other build thread I found and pulled a 88 Grand Wagoneer front Dana 44 axle from a junkyard

Was gonna put it on the XJ but ended up trading it away. So the plan is to put this under the MJ now

Found gears on CL and traded a winch for it

I also built a doubler kit for a buddy a while ago for an D44 ARB locker.
Last week I ordered a TNT truss

Just gotta burn it on then have it regeared.

As of the rear axle. I'm still searching... I'm not gonna regear the front until I find a rear axle first.
Hopefully for an AMC 20 or a Dana 44 from grand wagoneer (6 lug) or an Isuzu Dana 44

Alright. Time for some updates. I installed 2" lift shackles on the MJ. (Netted about 1.25"). That made the truck sit more level now. As usual with the installation, it didn't go as expected... NOTHING was broken or needed to be torched, grinding, or bull****.
Everything unbolted easily and didn't get stuck. A big WHEW right there!

Not having a captive nut hidden inside the uniframe really helps lol.
I also converted the cooling from closed to open.

I also bought an OG CavFab crossmember.

I won a $50 gift certificate to Iron Rock Offroad at NACfest so I went ahead and bought this

And this

I might be picking up a Dana 44 LSD carrier that supposedly was "rebuilt" this weekend. I ll see how that goes.
If I do get it then I ll order gears.
