I also bought the new nipple to convert the oil filter adapter to standard 3/4 threads so I have wider range of oil filters available to use.

OH memories. This looks just like my tan MJ from long ago. Recently divorced, 32 and dating a 19 year old stripper...but I digress...lol! Can't wait to read the rest of this build!

If it came out of a 97, the ONLY downfall is the perches. Definitely go with option b.
"Period Correct". LOL! You are either into Renfaires, the SCA, or some other type of reenactment like Civil War or buckskinners...lol! Love the reference.

Great build thread sir! That tan one looks like my old 2 wheel drive. Almost identical, except mine was like new when I bought it. Gotta love the bench seat!

My second one was 4X4 from the factory, lifted like 2 inches. Rusty as heck, so I didn't have it long.

lol... dude I'm a total nerd. I don't dress the part or anything when I go to renfaires, but I totally get into making armor and weapons for SCA. Even have a couple of swords... used to be a much larger collection, but sold them to pay for Jeep parts

Finally had a bit of time so I went ahead and cut off about 2-1/4 inches of the drivers side cast section. To make room for the TNT truss.

The reasoning is because of this.

I'm contemplating rotating the C's but I don't think it would matter that much since it's only gonna be on 3" lift or so.

A rare occurance happened; I finally had a bit of time. Took the gears out of the d44. Had to locate a hole 1.5" away from the bolt face for the entrance for the air line. The OEM vent hole is exactly where it needed to be. So I measured the vent hole, then "relocated" the vent hole 3/4" away. Center punched the new location then drilled a new hole.

As of the OEM location, I opened it up to 7/16" and then tapped it for 1/4 NPT.

The tale of SuperMJ-photo949.jpg

Next thing I need to do is to clean up the housing a bit, then burn the truss on.

Had 10 minutes of free time so I headed out to the shop and drilled 1-1/8 hole on the top of the truss above the vent hole/air fitting for easy access with a hole saw

Hole wasn't large enough so I had to egg the hole oval. No big deal.

I painted the inside of the truss with Weld-Thru primer.

I got bunch of free flap discs. Used one to sand the tubes again just to shine it up.

The tale of SuperMJ-photo78.jpg

Wire-wheeled the pumpkin housing. To remove the accumulation of rust since the last time I did it.

The tale of SuperMJ-photo344.jpg

TNT lower control arm mounts and sway bar mounts came in the mail today. They ll get burned on after the truss.

Progress, I say!

I also picked up a D44 LSD carrier from a friend.

The tale of SuperMJ-photo900.jpg

(For the rear axle; the front axle will get the ARB).
