The title says it all, i just got this Comanche short box with a 4.0 and a Peugeot 5speed the guy told me it needs a new clutch so I pull the transmission to find a brend new clutch. See the problem was I put it in gear and let the clutch out it don't grab till almost all the way out and it clunks hard like bam and moves but it's hard and don't like it. When it's out of gear it sound like a bad throughout bearing. And it won't roll in less the transfer case is out of gear. So I thought transmission right? So I found a ax5 on CL for sale I am told it bolts right in is that true and thank. You .

 

If you have the pukegoat, then you have a 4.0L. IIRC, bellhousing is different and will not work. AX-15 is basically plug n pray.

 

Did you mean AX-15? The AX-5 is the transmission behind the 2.5L 4cyl and 2.8L V-6. It will not bolt up to your 4.0L engine.
