Model: Cherokee (XJ)
Engine: 2.4
Default P2122 Throttle/Pedal sensor

2018 Jeep Cherokee 2.4 4cyl

engine light came on
ran codes and got
P2122 Throttle/pedal position sensor - Switch D Circuit Low
also seen P0222 - TPS Switch B Circuit Low
P0123 TPS Switch A Circuit High

went by mechanic and he thought it was battery, tested 12.6 at rest, around 14 running.

drove car to do errands and ran fine. Came out of last stop and car was dead, started immediately with a jump.

checked codes again - same
erased codes
yesterday almost started on 1st try, started on 2nd try

today car running fine, engine light is off
car sat overnight and started right up this morning
have not shut it off for fear on not restarting
will check for restart when I get home

funny thing - key fob was not detected a few times over the last few months, but worked after a try or two

grabbed my new back up fob and haven’t seen the engine light

could it be that simple?

do I really need to replace the TPS?

thanks for any advice!
