I have a jeep cherokee 3.2l v6. Recently I went into a mechanic to enquire about a new performance muffler so that I can a have a deep aggressive throttle to my jeep.
But he told me that the muffler in the back is very hard to replace because the exhaust is coming from the middle portion.
Is there any other way to get a deep aggressive sound
You need a new mechanic. Lots of folks over at jeepcherokeeclub.com have upgraded their exhausts, from muffler replacement to full custom systems. Here are a couple ideas.
The OP stated that he wants a deep, aggressive sound.
It just seems wasteful to replace the oem muffler with something likely of lower quality just to change the sound. Harley owners do it all the time though - much to the annoyance of non-motorcycle owners who have to listen to them.
I think we just need to respect his wishes. After all who would want to lift a vehicle and ruin their gas milage?
The XJ community, probably lol.
Most v6s ive come across sound deep after swapping mufflers, but not very aggressive. Others sound aggressive, and thats it. But thats if you rev the snot out of them getting onto the highway. Most are just loud. I think the best way to figure out what you want is to get ahold of those that have swapped mufflers on thier v6 and, if possible, get a sound clip. Might even find some on Youtube. Maybe. When i was part of the Mustang forums, thats we would tell others to do. Word of mouth is one thing. But being able to hear it for yourself is the best way.
