You done gone and did the thinking for him.
Just to be clear OP, you didnt try to show off, speed through the water and stop short cause you go scared or someone called out to you. Like you said about water fording, almost any vehicle can safely dive through X amount of deep water, where X is relation to its size, but once stopped all that water need somewhere to go.

is this where we share info and warnings? or is this for bashing others that point out issues on their new jeep?

Okay, you've shared your concern. Now contact Jeep and get something going. This whining is getting old.

I would be really interested in viewing your pictures where this whole situation started.

If this was true, and happened to my brand new vehicle, I would be getting Jeep involved, rather than pissing and moaning on a forum......

lift the hood on one and gaze at the void.. lol o man its not a practial layout. it looks born to drown.. i was so impressed i missed a big detail.. everything else i am overly happy with..
their is no water in the oil at all.. so. i dont know.. plus the melted stuff...??
i compared the buick suv's intake to the jeeps and i guarantee the junkard rental would have made it..
i am so glad i was not out in the middle of no where on an actual trail and have this go down.. if it couldnt make this it couldnt make it anywhere id go offroad period.. mind you i dont go hard like some jeepers. i run stock.. and if it looks stupid. i have reverse..

nope.. i hit the panic button on the mirror.. got tow assistance.. yes straight to a dealer who was ready to sell a motor.. but not check the engine that bout caught fire.. so i had it towed back to the dealer i got it from they saw what i saw too. and understood . i also have a loss pending.. and im calling flaw on this one.. go look at one..
the air intake hole has nothing in the way of water.. in the situation im talking about.. the hole just did its thing.. scooped.. and sent it up.. more came in than out. also.. the front tires were on dirt when it died.. the rims on the back tires were barely in water.. wasnt deep.. shouldnt have happend..
