Hello 👋 Hoping someone may be able to have any answers or suggestions. I am a Rural Mail Carrier so this car is the only way I get to work.
I have a 2020 Jeep Cherokee that will not accelerate. At first it started as if it was going into limp mode and it just sped up really slow. Then the check engine light came on along with the A! light. Then the vehicle stopped moving no matter how much I pressed the gas. Everything else seems to be acting fine. Even when it’s in park I can make the throttle go but as soon as I put it into drive the gas won’t do anything. It starts like it wants to go but then just stops. Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance!

 

Check the codes and see why the check engine light came on.

 

TrailerTrash it came on, but did not stay on. They are saying without it on there is no need to check it. It will start, but not accelerate at all. Nothing happens when you press the gas.

 

what are you talking about?

check the codes if you have a scanner if not have somebody with a scanner come scan it. codes don't just disappear even if the check engine comes one and you keep driving it and then goes off the code stays in the ecu's memory. so when you scan it you can pull up the current codes and the codes that stored in the memory.

check your battery, seems a lot of people have weird issues when their batteries are low or going out. if the battery is good just unplug it for a while to reset everything.

if not take it to the dealer if it still has warranty.
