Looking at this cabin air filter, what appears to be on it and where would it come from? I have a 2015 that had a bunch of dust, but I'm not sure what this 2021 has on it. Also to the right of where the filter is, there is a fabric piece that hangs down (located under glove compartment). I looked behind the fabric piece and there appears to be a connection piece that some sort of wire should clip into. Thanks in advance

You'll want to replace your cabin air filter every year as recommended. Even more if you live in certain areas where pollutants are more common. That very well COULD be coming off of that insert you're talking about. Although that shouldn't happen.
