apparently there is a code for these pads that I need to call the dealer for I’m assuming it’s related to the dual piston calliper or the single piston caliper and I couldn’t find it anywhere on the pads when I took them off, any other car I’ve done brakes on I’ve never had this issue

if you're calling the dealer to brake pads, they should be able to see what parts you need with your vin number if they can't figure it out with the year, model and submodel information.

I called the dealer in the morning, the code for a Jeep Cherokee north 2.4 L FWD with single piston caliper is BRF. I hope this helps anyone else in my predicament. I used this forum in hopes I could get a speedy reply and not have to wait for my dealership to open this morning (being it was a holiday for us in Canada on Monday).

Not judging but brake pads can be bought from AutoZone for 1/3 of the price and will work just as good or better. So I don’t get why we’re getting them from the dealer. You could get both sets and it’ll be obvious which ones are right. Then return the other ones. It happens just about every day at the shop with all the different options and what not that cars have. GM is the absolute worst with this, GM seems to be the worst in many areas, that’s why I’m here on a Chrysler forum lol

I have a 2017 Jeep Cherokee sport, 2.4 l, FWD with just over 84, okay miles. I've had this vehicle since it was new and I just now replaced my first set of rear brakes from the factory less than 500 miles now I know for a fact that AutoZone breaks are worse your weight and gold and I'll tell you why they made out of substandard material. Just so you know I have a 2016 Jeep Cherokee Sport, 2.4 l, fwd. I have installed four sets of AutoZone brakes on the front of that vehicle it has perfectly working calipers and rotors like brand new but the ceramic brakes did AutoZone sells are junk I have 100 1,600 miles on my 2016 Jeep my first set of brakes was Factory brakes that they lasted 51,000 MI I've been through four Center front brakes from AutoZone having purchased only the initial set because they fail prematurely sometimes the metal backing will come off and your pad will shred into little bit because it comes unbelieved from friction. If you want quality you're going to have to pay some money AutoZone brake pads are garbage even their top of the line now go to Napa and get their mid grade ceramics and you're going to get twice the mileage out of that set of brakes go to the dealer and get twice what you'll get from Napa. You may not believe it but I've been in the industry for 35 years working on cars professionally trust me when I tell you that what I do these little tests so that I can tell people like you these things there's evidence back it
