Default Autostop Eliminator

I'm new to the forum but am a member on many others. Thanks for having me. My wife just bought a 2022 Cherokee Trailhawk and she loves it with one exception, the auto start stop feature. Who loves this feature..............nobody. I looked up the module to change hers from Autostop Eliminator and they only list up to 2021. I contacted them and they said they had not developed the new year model yet. They asked me if I would bring them mine and they would give me a module and $200 for my time. Problem is I live in North Idaho and they are in West Virginia, a little far for me to go. So I am looking for someone who is interested in this deal and is local to them, If I was anywhere closer there would be a burnout from my front door to their shop. If you are interested PM me and I will make the arrangements to get it done.

Howdy neighbor (I'm in Spirit Lake)! Think they'd send you the 2021 version to see if it worked? A quick google just showed the ECM part numbers are the same 2019-2022, so it would likely work.

They said that there are differences from year to year. There must be something that is important to them or I don't think they would pay someone to use their vehicle. Just my thoughts. That idea didn't come up in my discussion with them.

There should be a button somewhere in the main cluster, below the radio, to turn off the Auto start/stop. Bad news is you need to do this every time you start the Jeep but it's free. You can also circumvent the system by braking slowly and not pressing the brake pedal all the way down. I just turn it off at the button each time. Good Luck.

Thanks, I knew that was also an option. I hate this feature and would easily pay to have it not be the way it is. Was driving from a light the other day in my 98 mountaineer when I heard the car next to me start. I left the guy next to me in the dust without trying. Was about 20 yards down the road when I looked back and it was a late model Cherokee. Btw I wasn't racing him just driving away. I also hate when you are sitting at a light with the air on and the temperature go up, car starts.........I'm sure you know the drill.
