Cool 2019 KL switch from auto to sport while car is moving?

I have a Latitude Plus 4X4

Can I switch from auto to sport while the car is moving. ?

I don't want to try it because it has to go through snow to get to sport.

I haven't tried the manual shift yet. Can I also put in manual mode while moving.

The manual doesn't always have all the answers.

Yes you can change it while moving. If you try to do something like shift into 4-lo on models that have it, it will refuse to and give you a warning on the dash. It also takes a few seconds to change, so it's not really going into "snow" mode when you cycle the **** through it. It's not really a shift, but rather changes in how it distributes power to the rear wheels, when it shifts, and how much slip it allows.

You'll like sport mode, btw. Especially if you have the 6-cyl.

Shouldn't be a problem... I've done it many times while in motion in my '14 Grand Cherokee. It's really fun to kick it into Sport Mode, especially with the base 3.6L V6 on the Grand Cherokee. The 'Checkered Flag' symbol that appears in the instrument cluster when you put it into Sport Mode makes it extra cool as well.

I've been using the sport mode around town where there are lots of hills. I don't think its using extra fuel because its more efficient at higher rpm when going up the hills.

I did an off road event with various obstacles this weekend so I tried the mud/sand mode. That works nice. I got stuck in some wet grass and mud. The event people thought they would have to tow me out but I surprised them when I got out on my own. They were also surprised that I was on street tires. I don't plan to buy special off road tires. It was mostly for Wranglers but there were a few Cherokees. The Cherokees did better than the wranglers on some of the obstacles because the Wranglers don't have the computers.

Does anyone know where to hook up a tow chain on a cherokee that is not the trailhawk with tow hooks.?

Do yourself (and the guys you offroad with) a huge favor and install proper tow hooks. For the rear, a quality 2" receiver hitch is a good option.

All Wranglers have computers, but that has little to do with offroading capability.

I meant the power train computer. PTU.

From what I heard Wranglers only have 4 HI and 4 low.
I guess I like the way my car runs.

Are those hooks a dealer part or after market?

The newer cherokee does have better traction control than some older straight xfer case setups. I came across this thread for adding factory tow hooks. It does look like there are structural reinforcements differences between the TH and non-TH versions, so it's not as simple as bolting on hooks.
